About Douglas Bria
Douglas Bria is an Associate in the San Francisco office of Jackson Lewis LLP. He represents management clients in employment litigation matters. Mr. Bria defends employers in all areas of employment-related litigation, including claims of wrongful termination, discrimination, breach of contract, and violations of wage and hour laws. He handles employment cases at both the state and federal level, as well as before the Department of Labor Standards Enforcement.
Mr. Bria’s experience also includes defending lawsuits involving civil RICO, securities, intellectual property, trade secrets, confidential information, unfair competition, defamation, and other common law causes of action, as well as counseling management and boards of directors regarding fiduciary duties, corporate governance, and negotiating dispute resolutions.

About Dylan B. Carp
Dylan B. Carp is a Senior Associate in the San Francisco office of Jackson Lewis LLP. Mr. Carp is a Certified Specialist in Appellate Law by The State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization and a co-founder of Jackson Lewis’ Appellate Practice Group. Mr. Carp has argued 10 appeals before federal and state courts. In addition to appeals and writs, Mr. Carp focuses his practice on unfair competition and trade secrets law, having second chaired a three-month unfair competition jury trial. Mr. Carp also handles all aspects of litigation in cases involving discrimination, harassment, disability, and wage and hour issues, including taking and defending depositions, briefing and arguing dispositive motions, and participating in mediations and settlement conferences.
In addition to Mr. Carp’s litigation practice, he counsels employers on unfair competition, discrimination, harassment, and wage and hour issues.
Mr. Carp has lectured on ethics and appellate law and litigation tactics. Mr. Carp has also published articles on these and related topics. His article on statutory interpretation was cited by a California court of appeal.
Prior to joining Jackson Lewis in 2007, Mr. Carp had a general litigation practice and also litigated federal civil rights class actions.

About Mark S. Askanas
Mark S. Askanas is a Partner and Litigation Manager in the San Francisco, California office of Jackson Lewis LLP. Mr. Askanas received his Juris Doctorate from the University of California, Davis School of Law (1985), where he was Senior Research Editor of the U.C. Davis Law Review. He received his B.A. degree from the University of California, Berkeley (1982).
Prior to joining Jackson Lewis, Mr. Askanas was General Counsel for Ross Stores, Inc., a Fortune 500 company with 30,000 associates in 25 states. There he worked closely with the Board of Directors, Audit Committee, and senior management managing risk, advising on legal developments and issues, including Sarbanes-Oxley compliance, corporate governance, transactional matters, and preventive nationwide litigation and class action avoidance strategies. In his previous role as the company’s Senior Vice President of Human Resources, he handled complex matters such as executive compensation, benefits, turnover and retention issues, recruiting, organizational development and training.
Prior to joining Ross Stores, Mr. Askanas was a successful employment litigation partner with Jackson Lewis, serving as lead counsel for cases in state and federal courts throughout the western United States.
